⚙️ How to Use

Step 1: Enter Positions

  • Input the Latitude and Longitude for your Departure and Arrival points.
  • Ensure you select the correct direction (N/S for Latitude, E/W for Longitude) from the dropdown menus.

Step 2: Calculate

  • Click the "Calculate" button. The results will be displayed below the form.
  • To start a new calculation, click "Clear".

Understanding the Results:

  • D'Lat (in nautical miles): The difference in latitude, indicating Northward or Southward travel.
  • D'Lo (in nautical miles): The simple difference in longitude between the two points, expressed in minutes of arc.
  • Middle Latitude: The average latitude between the two points, used in the departure calculation.
  • Departure (in nautical miles): The true East-West distance, calculated by correcting the D'Lo for the mean latitude.
  • Course: The course to steer, shown in both quadrantal form (e.g., S 51° E) and as a True Course (e.g., 129° T).
  • Distance Travelled: The total distance over the rhumb line in nautical miles.
